It’s marvellous for your cats to stay at home!

With my service, rather than have your cat suffer the unfamiliar surroundings of a cattery - it can stay at home in a familiar and stress-free environment!

Most cats are very territorial and when taken away from their familiar home surroundings, they can become very stressed.  Please check out the background to this by clicking “Why Cats Hate Catteries”.

About myself

I’m a former digital project manager turned cat sitter.  I live in Chester with my husband and our rescue cat Paloma.

My very personal service

Having a cat that’s so sensitive to her own environment, I understand how important it is to make sure your feline friend is happy and settled when you’re away, so I pride myself on providing a service tailored to your cat’s needs.  That might be just providing food and a water refresh, regular playtime or a full-on fuss session.  If your cat likes to chat, I’m there for it!

I’m fully insured and hold a DBS check.

My own cats

Having grown up without any pets in our household it wasn’t until I bought a house that I became a cat owner.  Before that I was always the person that the cats would come to when visiting friends.  I always felt happy around other people’s cats.  I’m the one who always stops to say “hello” to a cat on the street or to wave at one sitting in a window.  It wasn’t until we bought a house that my husband, who grew up with cats, suggested we get a cat of our own.  Needless to say, I didn’t hesitate!

Our first cat, Diego was a rescue.  Sadly, we lost him to heart disease when he was aged just 4.  After a few months of getting over the immediate shock, we soon realised that the house wasn’t the same without a coating of cat hair and a happy “meow” greeting us every time we opened the front door.  It is definitely very true that “a house is not a home without a cat.”

We adopted Paloma in 2019 from the same local rescue in Chester and she’s now firmly the boss of the house.  For a smaller than average cat she has a larger than average personality who loves company, fuss and of course, treats.

My purpose

Realising that I am most definitely a “cat person” led me to a thought that I’d often ponder…. “Wouldn’t it be great if I could look after cats for a living…”  I wasn’t happy or fulfilled in my digital job and knew I was ready for a change.  That’s when I found Home Loving Cats and decided to become part of their amazing network of dedicated and caring cat sitters.  Combining my love of cats with the pride in service that I have developed in my previous “proper job” roles has been a dream come true for me.  I love looking after cats in the knowledge that they’re happy in their own environment, and my fantastic service means that you can travel away from home in the comforting knowledge that your cats are safe, happy and well cared for.  Truly travel without worry or stress!
