"Lyndsey is fantastic and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Now for the first time we can go away knowing our cats are safe and loved. She is incredibly reliable and sends regular pictures when we are away. Lyndsey also gives the cats their multiple medicines, which we all know is not easy with cats. I now think they look forward to us going away."
Jacqui Foers
"We've been working with Lyndsey for the last four to five years and our cat loves her even more than we do. Lyndsey is reliable, so amazing with our cat and our home. Honestly the best, most trustworthy cat sitter ever."
Abdul Haque
"We decided to try a cat sitter for the first time because our cat, a feral rescue, found the cattery experience really distressing. Lyndsey was great, really friendly and understanding about his needs. It was so reassuring to see photos of him on a regular basis while we were away."

About me

I have lived the majority of my life in Leicestershire, currently residing in the delightful village of Groby with my family, my horse (Dโ€™Amour) and our 2 cats (Indy and Paws).

Animals have always been a passion of mine, starting from a young age with the traditional first pet fish, imaginatively named Phish Phood after my favourite ice cream! ย Over time more pets were accrued and it wasnโ€™t long before there was a small menagerie of rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and a horse!ย  It was this commitment to my love of animals that led me in the past 8 years to work in Belgium/Netherlands and England at top dressage yards, managing and caring for top competition horses.

I have always had an affinity for cats but it wasnโ€™t until 10 years ago they became an integral part of mine and my familyโ€™s life. ย It started with the rescuing of 2 abandoned kittens, which I found in our garage. ย Having only been given a 50/50 chance of survival by the vet, it led to a highly scheduled round the clock feeding timetable, which my mum, brother, sister and myself had to work out around work, school and university!!! ย Happily, they survived and after me naming them Indy and Paws, they never left. ย It is this experience that founded my passion and dedication to the happiness and welfare of cats, which I can offer to you and your cats.ย  Should you ever wish to offer a home to a cat in need,ย Cats Protection Leicesterย always have some likely candidates who are desperate to be “wanted” for the first time in their lives!

My other interests include horse riding and competing my dressage mare, Dโ€™Amour, swimming and reading historical novels. ย I also have great interest in travelling and hope to visit the USA and Greece as well as return to my favourite city, Rome, which incidentally has a great feline tradition in the ruins of the capital!!!! ย No, wonder I love it!!

Benefits for you and your cats

  • I can provide texts and photos updating you on your beloved pet to give you peace of mind and let you enjoy your trip.
  • Bookings can be made for 1 day onwards and if your travels donโ€™t run to plan, no panic! ย Just let me know and I will take care of your cat until your return.
  • Before you go away I will come round to meet and discuss all necessary care arrangements for your cat(s).
  • I am covered by public liability insurance and have a (police check) basic disclosure.

Why Leicester Cat Owners Choose In-Home Cat Sitting

Leicester is a genuinely diverse city with a wide variety of neighbourhoods, from the quiet village feel of Groby and Ratby on the western edge to the urban areas closer to the city centre and the suburban communities of Oadby, Wigston, and Birstall. Across all of it, cats are the same: territorial, routine-dependent, and noticeably different when their home environment is disrupted.

The three reviews above tell consistent stories. Jacqui’s cats are on multiple medicines. Lyndsey administers all of them, reliably, every visit. Cats that take multiple medications are often the hardest to place when their owner travels, and finding someone who handles it without fuss is genuinely difficult. Sanaa has used the service for four to five years and her cat, by her own account, prefers Lyndsey to her owners. Phillippa’s cat is a feral rescue, the kind of cat that found a cattery stay genuinely distressing. With Lyndsey visiting at home, he was settled, photographed happily, and there to greet his owners on return.

Lyndsey’s background is not typical for a cat sitter. Years managing competition horses at top dressage yards in Belgium, the Netherlands and England requires a level of animal welfare knowledge, physical commitment, and calm reliability that most people never develop. That experience translates directly into how she handles cats: an ability to read animal behaviour, respond appropriately to individual needs, and stay consistent regardless of what the day throws at her.

The village of Groby, where Lyndsey is based, sits at the edge of Bradgate Park, one of the most visited open spaces in the East Midlands. It is a part of Leicestershire with a strong community feel, and Lyndsey’s reputation there has been built over years of local cat sitting work long before she joined Home Loving Cats.
